March 4 (SeeNews) - Turkey's domestic industrial producer prices increased by 27.09% year-on-year in February, the country's statistical office said.
On a monthly comparison basis, the domestic market industrial producer price index (PPI) rose by 1.22% in the second month of 2021, TurkStat said in a statement on Wednesday.
In February, the PPI on the domestic market rose by an annual 17.32% in the mining and stone quarrying sector, by 29.57% in manufacturing and by 27.31% in the water supply sector. The index edged up by 0.68% in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning sector.
In the main industrial groups, the PPI increased by 33.77% year-on-year for intermediate goods, by 29.29% for durable consumer goods, by 22.81% for non-durable consumer goods, by 26.54% for capital goods and by 8.44% for energy.
By industry subdivisions, the sharpest annual increases in the domestic market PPI in February were registered in basic metals, by 52.62%, in paper and paper products - by 45.05% and in metal ores - by 33.98%.
The lowest annual increases were observed in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution, of 0.68%, crude oil and natural gas - of 5.24%, and wearing apparel - of 6.81%.
