December 3 (SeeNews) - Turkey's consumer price index (CPI) increased by 14.03% year-on-year in November, after rising by an annual 11.89% the month before, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Turkey's consumer prices rose by 2.3% in November, after a 2.13% increase in October, TurkStat said in a statement.
The year-on-year rise in consumer prices in November was driven by higher prices of miscellaneous goods and services which increased by an annual 29.42%. Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages were up 21.08% year-on-year in the month under review, whereas prices of transportation services rose by 18.67% compared with November 2019.
Prices of education rose by 7% year-on-year in November, prices of communication services were up 5.19% and prices of clothing and footwear increased by 0.99%.
