September 26 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's net electricity production fell 9% on the month to 1,334 GWh in August, while total electricity consumption decreased by 6% to 1,069 GWh, the country's statistics office said on Monday.
Slovenia imported 549 GWh of electricity and exported 780 GWh last month, the statistics office said, citing provisional data.
Month-on-month, the output of Slovenia's hydro power plants decreased 3%, generation by its thermal power plants declined by 25% and generation by the country's sole nuclear power plant Krsko remained almost unchanged.
In line with decreased production in thermal power plants, fuel consumption also fell by 26% last month.
