LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), July 26 (SeeNews) – Slovenia's net electricity production decreased by 6% month-on-month to 1,268 GWh in June, while total electricity consumption fell 1% on the month to 1,092 GWh, the statistical office said on Monday.
In annual terms, the country's power output was down 8%, while total consumption rose 7%, the office of statistics said in a statement, citing provisional data.
The June output of the country's hydropower plants increased 14% on the year and fell 16% on a monthly comparison basis to 575 GWH.
The output of the thermal power plants in Slovenia totalled 158 GWh in June, down 54% on the year and 23% lower month-on-month, while the production of Slovenia's sole nuclear power plant, Krsko, fell 1% on the year and expanded 18% month-on-month to 491 GWh.
In June, Slovenia imported 520 GWh of electricity and exported 669 GWh. Imports fell 10% compared to the previous month, while export decreased 14%.
On annual comparison basis, Slovenia's electricity imports rose 20%, while exports decreased 13%.
Hydro energy had the largest share of 45.4%in Slovenia's total power production in June, followed by nuclear energy with 38.8%, thermal energy with 12.5% and solar and wind with 3.4%.
