November 25 (SeeNews) - Slovenian port operator Luka Koper [LJE:LKPG] said on Friday its nine-month consolidated net profit amounted to 33.2 million euro ($35.2 million), up 23% on the year.
In the January-September period Luka Koper's consolidated net sales revenue amounted to 149.5 million euro, 2% above plan and 11% up year-on-year, the company said in a filing with the Ljubljana bourse.
Luka Koper's consolidated EBITDA also rose 11% on the year, to 58.1 million euro, in the review period.
The company's total maritime throughput amounted to 16.3 million tonnes, which is a 5% increase compared to the same period of 2015, it noted. Growth was registered on the car segment - by 24% to 817,596 t, and on the containers segment - by 7% to 6,195,439 t.
In the nine months through September Luka Koper Group allocated 40.9 million euro to investments in property and intangible assets, which is an increase of 24.3 million euro on the same period last year but 27% less than planned.
In August, the company said it plans to invest in the next four years over 230 million euro in expanding its container business segment which is expected to increase the company's annual capacity from 950.000 TEUs to 1.3 million TEUs.
