August 23 (SeeNews) - Slovenia’s consumer confidence indicator increased by 1 percentage point in August, after gaining three percentage points a month earlier, the country's statistics office said on Tuesday.
The indicator improved due to more optimistic expectations of consumers about the country’s economic situation (by 4 pp), households’ financial situation (by 2 pp), the level of unemployment (by 1 pp), and the suitability for saving (by 1 pp).
Compared to the same period last year, consumer confidence was down 7 points this month, after ending 1 point higher in July.
The value at the annual level was lower due to more pessimistic expectations of consumers about suitability for saving (by 14 pp), the country’s economic situation (by 12 pp), the level of unemployment (by 2 pp), and the households’ financial situation (by 1 pp).
August's consumer confidence index was 1 point below last year's average.
