September 1 (SeeNews) - Serbia's state-owned power utility Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) plans to launch in the fourth quarter a 37 million euro ($41.4 million) tender for the construction of two new small hydro power plants and the rehabilitation of 15 existing ones, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said.
EPS will use the proceeds of an EBRD loan to fund the project, which will lead to improved efficiency and carbon savings, the bank said in a statement on Wednesday.
Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of the EBRD loan will be subject to the bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country.
EPS is set to implement a comprehensive company restructuring with a 200 million euro loan from the EBRD, approved last year.
