November 18 (SeeNews) - Serbia cooperates with German state-owned international development company GIZ on renewable energy projects worth 100 million euro ($106 million), Dragan Glamocic, an adviser to prime minister Aleksandar Vucic, said on Friday.
The government targets a share of renewables in Serbian energy mix in excess of 20% by 2020, Glamocic said in an emailed statement to SeeNews on the occasion of the "Bioenergy - access to affordable and sustainable energy" conference held in Belgrade.

Germany is a partner of the Serbian central and local governments in the development of bioenergy markets, German ambassador to Serbia, Aksel Ditman, said during the conference. Serbia is a regional leader in the processing of biomass, he added.
Under the EU 2020 strategy and Energy Community Treaty obligations, Serbia is committed to meeting a national target of 27% share of renewable energy resources until 2020.
