July 30 (SeeNews) - Romania's unemployment rate inched down to 5.2% in June, from 5.5% in the previous month, the national statistical office, INS, said on Friday, citing provisional data.
On an annual comparison basis, Romania's jobless rate was 0.4 percentage points lower in June 2021, INS said in a statement.
There were 425,000 unemployed people in Romania in June, down from 449,000 in May.
The jobless rate among women was 5% versus 5.3% among men.
The unemployment rate among adults aged between 25 and 74 was estimated at 4.2%. The percentage of unemployed people aged between 25 and 74 in the total number of unemployed was 76.8% in June.
Romania's workforce is estimated at about 9 million out of a population of some 19.5 million.
