July 30 (SeeNews) - Romania issued 24,451 building permits for residential projects in January-June, up 36.8% year-on-year, the national statistical office, INS, said on Friday.
During June only, Romania issued 4,901 building permits, of which 67.6% were for projects located in rural areas, INS said in a monthly statement.
The regional distribution shows an increase in the number of construction permits released for residential buildings, compared to June2020, in Bucharest-Ilfov area, southeast, northeast and northwest regions.
In the south-Muntenia, southwest Oltenia and western regions, the number of building permits was lower on the year in June.
INS provided no figure for the value of the projects which were granted permits.
Romania issued 41,311 building permits for residential projects in 2020, down 2.9% year-on-year.
