October 21 (SeeNews) - Construction production in Romania fell 7% year-on-year in August, marking the second-biggest rate of decrease among EU member states for which data is available, after Spain, Eurostat said.
On a monthly comparison basis, Romania's construction output was 2.6% lower in August, the fourth-sharpest decrease among EU countries for which data is available, after Sweden, Hungary and Germany, the bloc's statistical office said in a statement on Tuesday.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe (SEE), Bulgaria was the only EU member state in the region that saw an annual rise in its construction production in August, of 2.4%. On a monthly comparison basis, Bulgaria's construction output increased by 0.6% in August.
