January 13 (SeeNews) - Oil and gas company NIS [BEL:NIS] generated the highest stock trading turnover on the Belgrade Stock Exchange on Friday, bourse data showed.
NIS was also the most traded company, as 9,938 of its shares changed hands.
Belgrade share indices declined.
The blue-chip BELEX15 index, which tracks the most liquid shares on the Belgrade bourse, fell by 0.30% to 712.33 points. On Thursday, the index gained 0.88% to 714.50.
The broader BELEXline, a free‐float market capitalisation weighted index, declined by 0.31% to 1,560.80, after rising 0.68% to 1,565.64 on Thursday.
Cookware maker Metalac [BEL:MTLC] led the blue-chip gainers by adding 0.39% to 1,807 dinars in a trading volume of 496 shares.
Industrial gases maker Messer Tehnogas [BEL:TGAS] paced the blue-chip decliners, losing 2.34% to 13,086 dinars.
NIS generated a trading turnover of 7.4 million dinars ($63,506/59,802 euro) on Friday, the highest among the blue chips and half of the 24.2 million dinars total turnover from trading in shares on the bourse for the day. On Thursday, turnover from trading in shares on the Belgrade Stock Exchange stood at 30.4 million dinars.
Trading in Treasury bonds contributed 570.9 million dinars to the bourse total trading turnover of 595.2 million dinars on Friday.
In the period between January 9 and January 13, BELEX15 and BELEXline lost 0.36% and 0.37%, respectively. Both share indices closed in the red in three of five trading sessions in the period.
Metalac was the biggest blue-chip gainer between January 9 and 13, as it advanced 3.85%. Household appliances maker Alfa plam [BEL:ALFA] fell the most in the period, down 5.43% to 33,100 dinars on Friday.
The total value of trading in shares on the Belgrade stock market this week was 126.8 million dinars. Trading in Treasury bonds contributed 1.384 billion dinars to the week's total trading turnover of 1.51 billion dinars on the bourse.
NIS was the most traded stock between January 9 and 13, as a total of 26,601 shares changed hands. The turnover from trading in NIS shares amounted to 20 million dinars.
