SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), July 30 (SeeNews) – Bosnia’s state-controlled BH Telecom [SAJ:BHTS] said its net profit soared 80% year-on-year in the first half of 2021, reaching 24.9 million marka ($15.1 million/12.7 million euro).
Operating income rose 2.3% on the year to 216.1 million marka in the six months under review, BH Telecom said in its first-half 2021 financial statement filed with the Sarajevo Stock Exchange on Thursday.
The telco's operating costs edged down 1.3% year-on-year in the January-June period, to 186.8 million marka.
BH Telecom is the largest of three telecommunications companies operating in Bosnia, which comprises two autonomous entities, the Federation and the Serb Republic.
BH Telecom is based in Bosnia's capital Sarajevo and has its customers mainly in the Federation. The company offers fixed and mobile voice services and Internet access.
The other two Bosnian telcos are HT Mostar, which is active in the Federation, and Telekom Srpske which operates in the Serb Republic.
