PODGORICA (Montenegro), October 22 (SeeNews) -The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Montenegro rose to 319.9 million euro ($378.4 million) in the first eight months of 2020, from 259.3 million euro in the prior-year period, the central bank said, citing preliminary figures.
Total FDI inflow decreased to 468.2 million euro in the first eight months of 2020 from 515 million euro in January-August 2019, while FDI outflow declined to 148.3 million euro from 255.7 million euro, the central bank said.
The inflow of investments in companies and banks fell to 86 million euro in the period under review, from 181 million euro a year earlier, while investments in real estate went down to 62.8 million euro from 108.7 million euro.
FDI inflow in the form of intercompany lending increased to 291 million euro in the first eight months, from 210.7 million euro in the like period of 2019.
The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Montenegro grew to 344.7 million euro in 2019, from 322.5 million euro in the previous year.
