January 17 (SeeNews) - The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Kosovo decreased 36.2% year-on-year in October 2016, totalling 21 million euro ($22.3 million), according to central bank data.
By comparison, foreign remittances to Kosovo increased by 7% year-on-year in October, reaching 62.1 million euro.
The biggest ammount of inbound investments, 7.5 million euro, originated from Switzerland in October.
In September 2016, Kosovo posted a positive FDI flow of 36.5 million euro.
In the first ten months of 2016, net FDI inflow totalled 203.3 million euro, compared to 301.4 million euro in the like period of 2015.
Foreign remittances to Kosovo totalled 566.6 million euro in the January-October period of 2016, up 2.7% year-on-year.
