December 1 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia will start exporting food products to Qatar under a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) signed with Lulu Hypermarket, a retail chain operating in the Middle East and Asia, the government in Skopje said.
The MoC was signed by North Macedonia's charge d'affaires to Qatar Elma Altorok and the director of Lulu Hypermarket Mohamed Althaf, North Macedonia's government said in a statement on Monday.
This is the first opportunity to export Macedonian food products to Qatar, the government quoted Althaf as saying.
The first products to be exported are fruits and vegetables, lamb and meat products, Macedonian ajvar, cheese varieties and healthy food products.
Lulu Hypermarket is part of Abu Dhabi-headquartered Lulu Group International, which owns some 195 supermarkets and employs 57,000 people, according to the statement.
