PODGORICA (Montenegro), November 30 (SeeNews) – Montenegro’s trade deficit declined by 20% on the year to 1.465 billion euro ($1.757 billion) in the first ten months of 2020, the country's statistical office said on Monday.
Exports declined 16% to 286.5 million euro in the January-October period, while imports went down 20% to 1.751 billion euro, the statistical office said in a statement.
Montenegro's key export destinations in the first ten months of 2020 were Serbia with 75 million euro, Slovenia with 28 million euro and Hungary with 20 million euro.
Imports into the country originated mainly from Serbia, which accounted for 343 million euro worth of imports, Germany with 166 million euro and Italy with 114 million euro.
In 2019, Montenegro's trade gap widened by 1.5% to 2.185 billion euro.
