July 30 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's Crnogorski Telekom [MNG:TECG] recorded a net profit of 1.4 million euro ($1.7 million) in the first half of 2021, up 80% on the year, the company said.
Revenue increased by 2% on the year to 36.4 million euro, while earnings before interests, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) went up 1.3% to 13 million euro, the telecommunications company said in a bourse filing.
"Crnogorski Telekom became the first telecommunications operator in Montenegro to successfully test the 5G network at several locations in the country in real conditions, ie on the middle frequency spectrum, which is currently available to users. I can proudly say that from year to year Crnogorski Telekom fulfills the promise we gave to customers - we tirelessly create a world of new opportunities," CEO Dina Tsybulskaya said.
The number of postpaid customers increased by 7%, while mobile Internet users rose by 18% to 218,000, Crnogorski Telekom added.
Croatia's biggest telecoms operator, Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT-R-A] controls 76.53% of Crnogorski Telekom.
