August 22 (SeeNews) - The average gross salary in Moldova, one of Europe's poorest nations, rose by a real 1.7% on the year to 5,169.7 lei ($261/231 euro) in June, following a 0.4% drop in May, statistics office data showed on Monday.
In nominal terms, June's average gross wage was 9.2% higher on the year, the office said in a statement.
The average gross salary in the public sector was 4,738.3 lei in June, up 6% on the year in nominal terms.
In the private sector, the gross wage was 5,350 lei in June, up by a nominal 10.5% on the year.

In 2015, the average monthly gross salary in Moldova grew by a real 0.7% on the year to 4,610.9 lei.
