August 26 (SeeNews) - Moldova's unemployment rate edged down to 4% in the second quarter of 2016 from 4.1% a year earlier, the country's statistics bureau said on Friday.
The number of unemployed in the country of 3.5 million people was 55,000 at the end of June, the statistics bureau said in a statement.
The workforce in the country rose by 1.9% on the year to 1.30 million people in the second quarter. The unemployment rate among men in Moldova was 5.6% versus 2.5% among women.
The statistics bureau also said the jobless rate was 6.8% in urban areas and 1.9% in rural areas.
