July 15 (SeeNews) - Moldova's trade deficit widened by 57% on the year to $1.572 billion (1.33 billion euro) in the first five months of 2021, the country's statistics bureau said on Thursday.
Moldova's exports rose 9.5%, while imports increased by 12.7% in the first five months of the year, the statistics office said in a statement.
In May alone, exports rose 29.5% on the year to 201.7 million euro, while imports surged 71% to 563.4 million euro.
