October 19 (SeeNews) - Macedonian electricity transmission company MEPSO is opening a tender for supervision services for a part of the Macedonia-Albania transmission line project, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said.
Under the contract, the company should provide supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA) for the smart grid improvement of a substation located in a subusb of Negotino, in central Macedonia, thet EBRD said in a procurement notice published on Tuesday.
Foreign and local companies are invited to apply until December 19.
The contract is expected to start on February 15, 2017 and last about 36 months.
The Macedonia-Albania power link is a 49 million euro ($53.9 million) project, financed by a EBRD loan and a grant provided by the Western Balkans Investment Framework and Luxembourg. Under the project, a 400kV cross-border electricity interconnection between Macedonia and Albania will be built.
