August 26 (SeeNews) - Macedonia's Stopanska Banka Skopje [MSE:STB] said on Thursday its net profit increased to 1.22 billion denars ($22.3 million/19.7 million euro) in the first half of the year from 1.11 billion denars a year ago on the back of higher net interest income.
Net interest income climbed by an annual 5.9% to 1.76 billion denars in the first six months, Stopanska Banka Skopje said in a financial statement sent to the Macedonian stock exchange.
Net fee and commission income declined 2.3% year-on-year to 458.9 million denars in the review period.
The bank's assets at end-June decreased by 8.7% to 15.4 billion denars. It ranks second in Macedonia in terms of assets.
The National Bank of Greece is the majority owner of Stopanska Banka Skopje.
