August 24 (SeeNews) - Macedonian brewer and soft drinks producer Prilepska Pivarnica [MSE:PPIV] said on Wednesday its first-half net profit narrowed by 9% on the year to 104.1 million denars ($1.9 million/1.7 million euro) due to higher operating costs.
The company's operating revenue rose by an annual 8% to 765.2 million denars in January-June, as the bulk came from sales on the domestic market, which grew 8% to 748 million denars .
The producer's operating costs grew 9% to 681.3 million denars. Its operating profit fell 12% to 86.3 million denars.
Financial revenues grew 7% to 18.5 million denars, whereas financial expenses fell 26% to 719,000 denars.
Prilepska Pivarnica (translated Prilep Brewery) was founded in 1924. It produces beer under the trademarks Zlaten Dab and Krali Marko and holds the licences for distributing Tuborg and Carlsberg in Macedonia. It produces also refreshing carbonated non-alcoholic drinks, fruit-nectar soft-drinks and bottles the products of Pepsi Cola International.
