December 7 (SeeNews) - Macedonia turned to consumer price deflation of 0.2% year-on-year in November from 0.2% inflation in the previous month, the country's statistics office said on Wednesday.
The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight of 40.9% in the consumer basket, fell 1.5% on the year last month, after a decline of 0.9% in October.
The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, which have the second largest weight of 13.8 in the consumer basket, edged down 0.5% on the year, after dropping at the same pace a month ago.
Prices in the transport segment, which have 7.9% weight in the consumer basket, grew 0.7% after adding 0.6% in October.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.2% in November. They remained unchanged in October.
The average annual deflation in the first eleven months of 2016 was 0.2%.
The Macedonian central bank's latest estimates point to zero average annual inflation in 2016.
