February 6 (SeeNews) - Macedonia's public enterprise for state roads opened a tender for construction of a 13.8 km section of the Stip-Kocani expressway to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the bank said on Monday.
The proposed period of construction of the Krupiste – Kocani road section is 24 months, the EBRD said in an invitation for prequalification posted on its website.
Under the contract, the awarded company should build the complete expressway including ten bridges and overpasses.
The prequalification documents have to be submitted by March 9.
The entire Stip-Kocani expressway will be 28 km long and will have four lanes. The project has a total worth 53 million euro.The expressway is part of East-West corridor from Trebenista to the border with Bulgaria.
