September 21 (SeeNews) - The inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Macedonia is expected to continue to increase until the end of the year, leading to the creation of new jobs, economy minister Driton Kuci said on Wednesday.
FDI inflow almost doubled in the first half of the year compared with the same period of 2015, reaching 123 million euro ($137 million), Driton Kuci said during a meeting with Germany's ambassador to Macedonia, Christine Althauser, according to a statement from the economy ministry.
The biggest FDI inflow in the first six month of 2016 originated from Germany, Turkey, and Luxembourg, Macedonia's central bank said earlier. The sector, which attracted the majority of investments, was vehicles and transport equipment manufacturing, in which foreign companies invested a total of 23.95 million euro during the review period.
