May 25 (SeeNews) - The Croatian unit of German retailer Lidl said on Monday it has opened a new store in the broader centre of Zagreb.
This is Lidl's 102nd store in Croatia and the first in Zagrebacka Street, one of the most prominent streets in the capital city, the retailer said in a statement.
The store is arranged according to a new concept design that ensures higher energy efficiency, Lidl said.
Lidl was the second largest retailer in Croatia in 2018, with a market share of 10-20%, according to the latest data available from the Croatian competition authority, AZTN. Local retail chain Konzum was leader with 30-40% market share, while third was Lidl's peer Kaufland. Lidl and Kaufland are both owned by Germany’s Schwarz Group.
