The company, part of local construction materials group Alas Holding, has bought state-of-the-art equipment for the manufacturing of ceramic tiles from Italian firm Sacmi and has built two new production halls, Tanjug reported without providing details.
In 2007, the company said it will invest 8.7 million euro to upgrade its capacities and will expand its product portfolio with wall tiles, along with its core production of floor tiles. Its total output is expected to triple to some 6.0 million square metres of tiles per year, Zorka Keramika said last year.
Zorka Keramika (www.zorka-keramika.co.yu) is located in Sabac, western Serbia. It employs 168.
Serbia's Alas Holding is 84.9%-owned by Alas International, a subsidiary of Austrian building materials producer Asamer Holding AG.
