BELGRADE (Serbia), May 24 (SeeNews) - Serbia's national lottery is interested in acquiring the lotteries of neighbouring Macedonia and Montenegro, its director, Bojan Kristo, said on Thursday.
"We are in informal talks to buy the lotteries in Montenegro and Macedonia," Kristo told a newsconference. "I think this is the future of Serbia's State Lottery."
He said he could not disclose any more details as the talks are in an initial phase.
The lottery is also in talks with a Russian company studying the possibility of starting to organise games of chance in that country, he added.
Serbia's State Lottery was set up in 2005. This year it expects revenue of 7.0 billion dinars ($116 million/86 million euro), up by some 200 million dinars compared to 2006.
It plans to launch a new game, TV Bingo, from September.
During two-and-a-half years of operation the lottery has contributed some 65 million euro to the state budget.
