Romanian furniture maker Libertatea sees its turnover staying flat on the year at 16.5 mln Romanian lei ($6.74 mln/4.66 mln euro) in 2008, the company said on September 5.

The company plans to invest 1.5 mln euro ($2.17 mln) in 2008 to relocate its production unit in Cluj-Napoca, northwestern Romania, outside the city, to Baciu village. Libertatea hopes to complete the project by mid-2009.

The company exported 70 pct of its annual output in 2007 to countries including the UK, France, Sweden and Russia.

It plans to reduce exports to account for 60 pct of its output in 2008.

The Romanian furniture market is seen exceeding 1.0 bln euro ($1.45 bln) in 2008, and further growing at an annual pace of 10 to 15 pct over the next few years. Main players include Mobexpert, IKEA, Staer, Alprom, Silvarom and Parisot.
