



































The waste-water treatment plant in Lovech will be completed by April 2009, a similar facility is already under construction in Sevlievo.
The general contractor in Lovech is the Turkish-German consortium System Yapi Insaat Ve Ticaret - an international company building such projects in Poland, Romania and Algeria. The corner stone was laid by the minister of environment Dzhevdet Chakarov and the mayor of Lovech Mincho Kazandzhiev.
The project amounts to EUR 18,396,575, of them 75% are an EU grant, the remaining EUR 4,599,144 are 25% national co-financing. The supervisor is the French-Bulgarian consortium Safeg - Aquains. The works started on 3 April 2007, the completion deadline is two years plus 12 months notification term. The financial memoranda for both projects in Lovech and Sevlievo were approved by the European Commission in 2002 and signed in 2003 with beneficiaries the local municipalities.
