June 18 (SeeNews) - Moldova's economy grew by a real 7.3% in the first quarter of the year, faster than the 6.2% growth recorded in the same period of 2006, the country's statistics bureau said on Monday.
Calculated in constant 2006 prices, the country's gross domestic product (GDP) for the first quarter was 9.197 billion lei ($747.4 million/557.4 million euro), the statistics bureau said in a statement.

Moldova's government forecast a 5.0% economic growth for the current year, up from 4.0% in 2006. End-year inflation is seen at 10% in 2007, down from 14.1% in 2006.
