In the second quarter of 2008 the survey on number of visitors of main tourist sights and attractions covered 139 museums and galleries. The total number of visitors is 750 354, of which 46% domestic and 54% foreign ones. The greatest number of visits in museums and galleries was realised in the County of Dubrovnik-Neretva (391 102) then in the City of Grad Zagreb (111 239) and in the County of Krapina-Zagorje (44 427).
Counties offering the greatest number of visits to sights and attractions are the following: the City of Zagreb (418 214) then the County of Krapina-Zagorje (384 247), the County of Osijek-Baranja (288 270), the County of Dubrovnik-Neretva (266 382), and in the County of Primorje-Gorski kotar (127 495).
The most visited tourist attraction was the Plitvice Lakes National Park with the 272 570 visits, of which 15% domestic and 85% foreign.
