



































The Svilengrad municipality is primed to take a stab at the energy business with the announced plans for a power generation partnership with a private investor.
The economic committee of the municipal council has accepted the proposal of Sofia-based Regent Capital to set up a joint limited liability company, Svilengrad Energy, for the production of solar power.
Svilengrad Energy will build a 5MW photovoltaic power plant.
The municipality will provide a 12.3 ha site for the project in the area of the Siva Reka village.
The land asset will comprise 25% of Svilengrad Energy's capital.
This is the second solar power project announced in the area in less than a year.
The Solar Hold company plans to invest 250 mln euro in the construction of 10 solar plants near the village of Pashovo.
