Capman Financial Group – Corporate news
Yalamov: The market is undergoing quite normal adjustment
The market is undergoing quite normal adjustment which may prove to be healthy, said Nikolay Yalamov, managing director of Capman investment broker and member of the Bulgarian Association of Licensed Investment Brokers, during the conference held today (“Is the Stock exchange Overheating”).
Regardless of such adjustment, Yalamov said that he expected a growing trend for the next 1-2, or maybe even 3 years.
The reasons for such adjustment, even if expected, are more than one, said Yalamov. „The first is that it is not normal for the yield on the Bulgarian market to exceed that on the European market, even if a great part of the companies made their business legal.”
„Second, a great part of investors have insufficient financial knowledge. Third, great interests and resources were directed to the market which is not that great, thus contributing to a price rise.
“The current situation may reallyprove to be healthy since purely speculative funds will exit the market. Namely insufficient financial knowledge must bring to light collective investment schemes where investments are managed by professionals,” added Yalamov.
This adjustment will influence the forthcoming IPO’s as well. Regardless of the fact that some of them may be oversubscribed several times at the first day of the ipo, the shares may be traded below the issue value.
Yalamov added that short sales are not an end in themselves. “They require liquidity, good clearing and possibly other preceding instruments.”
The whole week on the exchange was dominated by a negative disposition. The index comprised of the 16 largest companies, SOFIX, ended at 1649,46 points having lost 100,19 points, or 5,73%. The shares of all companies part of the index underwent a price drop.
