Macedonian fiscal and monetary policies should agree on decreasing the reference interest rate by 6 percent by April, which would boost the economy. Mitko Aleksov, chief executive of the Association of Macedonian Chambers of Commerce (SSK) demanded this on Wednesday at a press conference in Skopje.

He positively evaluated the latest, fourth package of anti-crisis measures, saying that 13 out of 23 new measures were adopted at the proposal of SSK. He pointed out that some of their demands were not taken into account, and the Macedonian government promised to consider them. According to Aleksov, insolvency is the main problem in the business sector and support of banks is necessary.

Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) is one of the greatest scientists, researchers and inventors in the world. Born in what is now Croatia, Nikola Tesla designed the first hydroelectric power plant at Niagara Falls, which started producing electrical power in 1895.
