SOFIA (Bulgaria), October 7 (SeeNews) - U.S. customer experience systems provider Amdocs said on Tuesday it was picked by Bulgarian wireless operator Mobiltel to streamline the operator's billing, ordering and customer management processes.

"Amdocs products will replace M-Tel's [Mobiltel's] existing billing, ordering and customer management operations with integrated Amdocs software. In addition, Amdocs will be the prime systems integrator and will provide ongoing product support and maintenance," Amdocs said in a statement.

The Amdocs software will provide Mobiltel with a single view of all customer Information to reduce time to market for new services and deliver improved customer service for an enhanced customer experience, the U.S. company said.

Mobiltel (www.mtel.bg), the Bulgarian wireless unit of Telekom Austria, is the country's first mobile operator. It had a market share of 50.5% at the end of June with a customer base of 5.154 million, its parent group has said. The mobile penetration rate in Bulgaria, with a population 7.6 million, rose to 133.8% through June from 117.4% a year earlier.

Mobiltel competes with Globul, a unit of Greek wireless phone operator Cosmote, and the smaller Vivatel, owned by listed Bulgarian telecoms group BTC.
