PRISTINA (Kosovo), February 4 (SeeNews) – The net profit of Kosovo's banking sector fell to 79.9 million euro ($95.84 million) last year, from 86.2 million euro in 2019, the country's central bank said on Thursday.
The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks totalled 3.25 billion euro at the end of December, up 7.1% year-on-year, the central bank said in a monthly report.
Deposits increased by 11.5% on the year, reaching 4.36 billion euro at the end of December.
The Kosovo banking system's total assets grew to 5.35 billion euro as at the end of December, from 4.76 billion euro a year earlier.
Return on assets (ROA) fell to 1.6%, from 2.2%. Return on equity also dropped, to 14% from 18.9%.
The figures comprise the financial results of 11 banks. Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank are the largest among them in terms of assets.
