January 24 (SeeNews) - Lender Komercijalna banka [BEL:KMBN] was the most traded stock on the Belgrade bourse for a second straight session on Tuesday and the only gainer among the blue chips, stock exchange data showed.
Komercijalna banka won 0.54% and closed at 1,690 dinars, as a total of 22,234 shares changed hands in a single transaction, generating a turnover of 37.6 million dinars, the highest on the stock market on Tuesday.
Earlier on Tuesday, Serbian media reported that a Belgrade court has started a trial against Komercijalna banka on an alleged violation of the money laundering and financing of terrorism law. The bank also announced a promotional cash credit offer on Tuesday that will be available by the end of February.
Share indices declined.
The blue-chip BELEX15 index, which tracks the most liquid shares on the Belgrade bourse, lost 0.27% to 699.04 points and fell below 700 points for the first time since November 30. On Monday, the index edged down by 0.08% to 700.91.
The broader BELEXline, a free‐float market capitalisation weighted index, decreased by 0.27% and closed the session at 1,535.89, after rising by 0.03% to 1,540.56 on Monday.
Cookware maker Metalac [BEL:MTLC] paced the blue-chip decliners on Tuesday after losing 2.78% to 1,750 dinars.
On Tuesday, the total turnover from share trading on the Belgrade bourse amounted to 46.6 million dinars ($404,483/375,849 euro), of which 4.57 million dinars was generated on the multilateral trading facility (MTP) segment. The share trading turnover on the regulated market amounted to 40 million dinars, amid 283 transactions. On Monday, turnover from trading in shares on the Belgrade Stock Exchange stood at 23.4 million dinars.
