February 26 (SeeNews) - The share indices of the Belgrade Stock Exchange closed lower on Friday, with lender Komercijalna Banka [BEL:KMBN] generating the highest turnover for the day.
A total of 7,032 Komercijalna Banka shares changed hands in a turnover of 22.4 million dinars ($231,000/190,700 euro). Komercijalna Banka closed 2.27% lower at 3,190 dinars.
Cookware maker Metalac [BEL:MTLC] paced the blue-chip losers with its shares closing 4.05% down at 1,850 dinars.
Plant protection products maker Galenika Fitofarmacija [BEL:FITO] and oil and gas company NIS [BEL:NIIS] lead the blue-chip winners as shares in both companies gained 0.16%, closing at 2,454 dinars and 633 dinars, respectively.
Agromarket said on Thursday it intends to launch an offer to reach full ownership of Galenika Fitofarmacija after recently increasing its stake in the plant protection products maker to 89.83%.
The BELEX15 index, which tracks the most liquid shares on the Belgrade Stock Exchange, ended the session 0.91% lower at 745.64 points.
The broader BELEXline, a free-float market capitalisation weighted index, fell 0.62%, closing at 1,571.19.
The bourse's total turnover surged to 1.6 billion dinars on Friday, from 13.6 million dinars on Thursday, as 112 transactions were carried out.
Trading on the multilateral trading facility (MTP) of the stock exchange generated a turnover of 14.7 million dinars.
