January 31 (SeeNews) - The sales of Swedish fashion retailer Hennes&Mauritz (H&M) in Romania increased by 17% to 2.1 billion Swedish crowns ($238 million/222 million euro) in financial year 2016 ended November 30, the company said on Tuesday.
In the local currency, H&M sales in Romania grew 18% over the review period, the company said in its full-year financial report.
In the fourth quarter alone, H&M sales in Romania rose 13% on the year to 591 million Swedish crowns. In the local lei currency, H&M sales in Romania increased 11% between September 1 and November 30.
H&M operated 52 stores in Romania at the end of November, after opening ten new stores in the fiscal year 2016.
In the fiscal year 2015, H&M sales in Romania jumped 40% on the year to 1.796 billion Swedish crowns.
In Southeast Europe, H&M is also present in Slovenia, Bulgaria, Croatia, and Serbia.
