February 1 (SeeNews) - Serbia's infrastructure ministry said Greek civil engineering group Aktor has proposed a new plan for the construction of four sections of Nis-Dimitrovgrad motorway.
The government plans to analyse the plan until February 8 when a meeting between infrastructure minister Zorana Mihajlovic and Aktor executive director Dimitrios Koutras is scheduled, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
The ministry will then decide how to proceed with the construction works and will eventually terminate the deals for some of the four sections awarded to Aktor, Serbian media quoted Mihajlovic as saying on Wednesday.
Aktor is in charge of the construction of the Prosek-Crvena Reka, Crvena Reka-Ciflik, Stanicenje-Pirot and Dimitrovgrad bypass of the Nis-Dimitrovgrad motorway, part of Pan-European Corridor X. The sections have a combined length of 48 km.
Aktor is in charge of two of the three lots of the Prosek-Crvena Reka sections in consortium with Italian sector player Terna. In the Dimitrovgrad bypass project, in turn, Aktor is also executing two of the three lots.
All of the sections, except for lot 2 of Prosek-Crvena Reka, had to be completed by the end of 2016.
Corridor X is projected to connect Salzburg in Austria to the Greek port of Thessaloniki, passing through Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Macedonia.
