February 1 (SeeNews) - Dutch gas transport company Gasunie expressed interest in partnering with Albanian state-owned gas operator Albgaz, Albania's energy ministry said.
A possible partnership between Gasunie and Albgaz would be an important step towards the country's gasification, with the Dutch company offering expertise to Albgaz, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
Albgaz was established in January following its split from Albpetrol. The initial capital of the company is 359 million leks ($2.8 million/2.6 million euro), according to data of the National Business Center. The company's main activity is construction and operation of systems for gas transmission, distribution and storage.
Gasunie's activities vary from gas transport services to building new infrastructure. Gasunie has two subsidiaries - in Netherlands and in Germany.
