September 28 (SeeNews) - Albania attracted 1.7 million foreign tourists in August, compared with 1.5 million which visited the country in the same month last year, the country's statistical office said.
Foreign tourist arrivals reached 5.67 million in the first eight months of 2022, up 29.3% compared with the same period a year earlier, the statistical office said in a statement earlier this week.
In August alone, the number of domestic tourists rose to 737,940 from 648,302 in August 2021. Overall, the total number of domestic and foreign tourists came in at 2.4 million in the month under review, compared with 2.2 million in the same month in 2021.
In 2021, the total number of foreign nationals who visited Albania jumped 114% year-on-year, reaching 5.7 million.
