August 13 (SeeNews) - EVN Bulgaria Toplofikatsiya heating utility, a unit of Austrian energy group EVN, said it will install new hot water boilers and smokestacks worth a combined 4.4 million levs ($2.6 million/2.2 million euro) and manufactured by Germany's Robert Bosch.
Three 62-tonne boilers as well as three 25-metre smokestacks have been delivered to one of the heating plants of EVN Bulgairia Toplofikatsiya in the country's second-largest city of Plovdiv on August 10 and August 11, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
The delivery is part of a project which envisages the installation of five new hot water boilers with a total capacity of 100 MW.
Plovdiv-based EVN Bulgaria Toplofikatsiya is investing a total of 23 million levs in the new boilers. The project is expected to be completed by the end of this year, the heating utility said last month when Bosch delivered the first two boilers worth over 2.5 million levs in total.
EVN Bulgaria Toplofikatsia operates nearly 200 kilometres of heating pipelines, servicing 30,000 households and business clients.
The Bosch Group has been present in Bulgaria since 1993 and employs approximately 430 associates in three local subsidiaries - Robert Bosch, BSH Domakinski uredi Bulgaria and Bosch.IO. Last year, the group generated a turnover of 152 million euro ($180.1 million) in Bulgaria, according to information published on its website.
