March 8 (SeeNews) - Romanian fast food chain DAbo Doner said on Monday it plans to open 38 new restaurants in the country by the end of 2021, as well as continue its international expansion in Europe.
The company's expansion plans were delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, it said in a press release.
"Even if 2021 seems like a year of economic recession, for us it is a year of development," DAbo Doner founder Dan Pastiu said.
The fast food chain recently opened two restaurants in Cluj Napoca, one in Bacau, and one drive-thru unit in Brezoi.
DAbo plans to open five more units in London and a total of 40 restaurants across the UK in the following three years. The company also plans to inaugurate new units in Spain, Luxembourg, Hungary and Bulgaria this year, through its local partners.
DAbo was founded in 2013 and currently has 52 units in Romania opened in partnership with 30 franchisees.
In 2020, the company posted a 19 million euro ($22.6 million) turnover, lower than 22 million euro in 2019, due to restrictions imposed to avoid the spread of the coronavirus disease.
