August 25 (SeeNews) - A unit of Croatian state-owned energy utility HEP, distribution system operator HEP ODS, is investing 500 million kuna ($75.3 million/66.7 million euro) in providing more secure electricity supply to consumers on the Adriatic coast, HEP said on Thursday.
Through its units in Pula, Rijeka, Gospic, Zadar, Sibenik, Split and Dubrovnik, HEP ODS has either completed or is currently working on improving the supply network on the Adriatic coast of Croatia where the consumer base increases each summer, HEP said in a statement on its website.
Elektroistra Pula will this week complete a 35 million kuna project, transferring the town of Pazin to a 20 kV network. Elektroprimorja Rijeka is entering the fourth phase of the Rijeka program worth 150 million kuna, while Elektra Sibenik intends to start works on the construction of three 110 kV substations.
HEP ODS is expected to direct some 1 billion kuna towards investments in Croatia's energy grid in 2016, its parent co said earlier this year.
