ZAGREB (Croatia), July 30 (SeeNews) – Croatia's Erste&Steiermaerkische Bank d.d., part of Austria's Erste group, reported on Friday a non-consolidated net profit of 511.2 million kuna ($81 million/68 million euro) for the first half of 2021, up from 171.3 million kuna in the like period of 2020.
The growth of net profit is primarily due to reduced risk costs that decreased to 26.5 million kuna in the first half of 2021, compared to 316.5 million kuna in the same period of 2020, Erste&Steiermaerkische Bank said in a statement.
Net interest income rose 1.5% on the year to 811 million kuna. Net income from provisions and fees increased 4.2% to 218 kuna.
Net income from trading and settlement to fair value increased 24.8% on the year to 103.2 million kuna in the review period.
The bank's assets totalled 79.9 billion kuna at the end of June 2021, up 9.2% compared to the end of December 2020.
The consolidated net profit of the bank and its subsidiaries rose to 608 million kuna in the first half of 2021, compared with 200 million kuna in the same period of 2020.
