October 14 (SeeNews) - Croatia's annual deflation eased to 0.9% in September, from 1.5% in August, data from the country's statistics office showed on Friday.
Month-on-month, Croatia's consumer price index (CPI) increased 1.1% in September, after dropping 0.2% in August.
Food prices, which have the biggest weight of 27.44% in the consumer basket, dropped 0.1% year-on-year last month, after falling 0.5% in August.
Annual deflation in the housing and utilities segment, with a 17.05% weight, dropped to 3.3% from 2.5% in August, while in the transport segment (12.33% weight) deflation slowed to 2.1% from 5.6% in August.
In 2015, Croatia's consumer prices fell by an annual average of 0.5% after a 0.2% contraction in 2014.
